About Me

Hi, my name is Luca Vitale. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in economics. I grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Throughout my childhood, sports were a significant part of me. Although I wasn't the best athlete growing up, I enjoyed being a part of a team. Personally, sports represent togetherness. I strive to encompass that mentality of "we" in every piece of content I create, ranging from promos to long-form content.

Why sports content creation? The fans and their communities. Everybody has a story to tell. It's my responsibility to discover those stories and form genuine relationships with those individuals so they feel comfortable sharing their stories with a larger audience. My values of commitment, personal growth, authenticity, and passion for the sports content creation and digital media field are values I desire to act upon daily while sharing with people who have the same enthusiasm as me for this industry.

I'm looking for my first full-time opportunity in sports content creation. Currently, I'm a digital media intern for the Joliet Slammers.

During my college career, I founded the Mizzou Club Hockey media/broadcasting department. Furthermore, I launched the team's weekly YouTube show and created a five-episode YouTube series unfolding the organization's history. I was the broadcast manager, content creator, and social media coordinator. I also worked for KOMU 8, mid-Missouri's NBC affiliate, as a sports reporter, producer, and anchor. Lastly, I hosted a sports radio show at KCOU 88.1 FM, Mizzou's student radio station, with two co-hosts breaking down storylines in the sports world.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching hockey, and playing tennis.
